A pressure washer short gun, also sold as a stubby gun or short trigger gun, replaces the long gun and lance that come with most machines with a compact gun you can work with at arm's length. Our High Pressure Washer Short Spray Gun is Rs 2,200 at Punjab Tools (October 2026). As listed, it has solid brass internal valves, a high-impact polymer body, a trigger safety lock and a rating for water up to 60°C.

It makes wheels, wheel arches, motorcycles, floor mats and cramped porches much easier to wash, and it keeps a foam bottle close to your hand instead of out at the end of a lance. One thing to settle before ordering: the listing describes the inlet as a brass threaded connector but doesn't give a thread size or name the machines it fits. Send us a photo of your hose end on WhatsApp and we will confirm the fit.

Short Gun vs Long Lance: What Changes

Tight spacesHits walls, gates and the groundEasy to turn between car and wall
Foam bottleSits far out front, heavy on the wristClose to your hand, easier to hold

A short gun doesn't make the machine weaker. The pressure comes from the pump and the nozzle, not from the length of the gun. What changes is how close you tend to hold it, which matters for paint, seals and your own hands (more on that below).

Where a Stubby Gun Earns Its Place

  • Wheels and wheel arches. Kneel at the wheel and you can angle the spray into the arch liner and behind the spokes without the lance hitting the ground or the bumper. The listing specifically mentions wheel wells and undercarriages.
  • Door shuts, fuel flap and boot edges. Short bursts on the fan spray, from a distance, and well back from rubber seals.
  • Floor mats. Take the rubber and carpet mats out and wash them on the ground. Never spray inside the cabin, where water soaks into carpet underlay and reaches wiring. For dust inside the car, use a blower and a vacuum instead; see our electric air blower guide.
  • Motorcycles. Under the mudguards, around the chain and swingarm, and the engine fins. Keep the spray away from the ignition switch, the meter and wiring connectors.
  • Narrow porches and garages. In many Pakistani homes the car sits in a tight porch between a wall and the gate. A long lance hits the wall before it reaches the far side of the car; a short gun doesn't.
  • AC outdoor units. The listing names hard-to-reach AC outdoor condensers. Units fixed close to a wall are easier to reach with a stubby gun, but switch the AC off at the breaker first and use the wide fan spray from a distance, along the fins rather than across them.
  • Long wash sessions. A shorter gun puts less leverage on your wrist, which you notice after washing a few cars in a row, especially with a full foam bottle attached.

Will It Fit My Pressure Washer?

Here is exactly what the listing states:

  • Inlet fitting: brass threaded connector.
  • Outlet fitting: quick release / adjustable nozzle interface, made for quick-connect snow foam bottles and detailing nozzles.
  • Valves and body: solid brass internal valves inside a high-impact polymer shell.
  • Water temperature: up to 60°C.
  • Safety: built-in trigger lock.
  • Thread size and compatible machines: not stated.

Pressure washers don't share one standard connection. Some hoses screw onto the gun, others click into a quick connector, and thread sizes differ between brands. A short gun is only useful if the high-pressure hose from your machine connects to its inlet directly, without an improvised joint. Ask about the outlet side too: the listing doesn't set out the box contents, so check whether a nozzle comes with it and whether your existing foam bottle clicks onto it.

To check the fit, send us on WhatsApp:

  1. A clear photo of the end of your high-pressure hose where it meets the gun.
  2. The brand and model label on your machine.
  3. A photo of your foam bottle's connector, if you want to use it with the new gun.

Avoid hose clamps, tape or home-made adaptors on the high-pressure side. Water under pressure finds any weak joint, and a hose that blows off a gun whips around hard.

How to Fit a Short Gun

  1. Switch the washer off and unplug it.
  2. Squeeze the trigger on the old gun to release the pressure still trapped in the hose.
  3. Unscrew or unclip the hose from the old gun.
  4. Check the small rubber seal in the hose end or the gun inlet. A missing or cut seal is the usual cause of a dripping joint, not a faulty gun.
  5. Screw the hose on by hand until it is snug. If you use a spanner, give it only a small final turn; brass threads strip when forced.
  6. Fit the nozzle or foam bottle to the outlet and give it a tug to make sure it has locked.
  7. Turn the water on with the motor still off and squeeze the trigger until water runs out steadily with no air spurting.
  8. Switch the motor on, spray at the ground first and check the joint for leaks.
  9. Engage the trigger lock every time you put the gun down.

Using It with Our Pressure Washers

Moko High Pressure Washer (Rs 14,000). The Moko has a brass pump head, a copper motor and auto-stop, which switches the motor off when you release the trigger. That suits the stop-start rhythm of short-gun work around wheels and arches. It is self-priming, so it can draw from a bucket or drum when tap pressure is weak. It comes with a foam bottle attachment.

De-Wolt DWE1600 High Pressure Washer (Rs 21,000). An induction motor with 100% copper winding, a built-in pressure gauge, auto-stop and self-priming, plus an extension rod and foam bottle in the box. The gauge is handy after any gun swap: if the reading looks very different from before, check the nozzle and the joint before carrying on. Stock of this model is limited.

Keep the original long gun and lance. Most people end up using both: the long lance for the roof, glass and big panels, and the short gun for wheels, arches, mats and bikes. Our pressure washer price guide compares the two machines in full and covers setting up with weak tap pressure, sandy water and hot roof-tank water.

Safe Use: Shorter Gun, Same Distance

A short gun puts your hand closer to the work, and that tempts people to bring the nozzle closer too. Don't:

  • Keep at least 30 cm from paint and further from badges, rubber seals, wrap edges and tyre sidewalls. Use the narrow jet only on caked mud in the arches and underbody.
  • Never point it at people, pets or your own hands and feet. A narrow jet at close range can cut skin.
  • Dress for splash-back. Closed shoes, old clothes and safety glasses when you are blasting mud out of the arches.
  • Keep electrics dry. Plug the machine into an earthed socket and keep the plug and any extension joint off wet ground.
  • Watch the water temperature. The gun is listed for water up to 60°C; in June and July an overhead tank can run hotter than you expect, so let the line run first and check your machine's manual for its own limit.
  • Store it properly. The listing's warranty covers valve integrity on arrival but not broken casings or damage from freezing. In the northern areas, drain the gun and hose before winter nights.

Who Doesn't Need a Short Gun

  • You mainly wash driveways, boundary walls and roofs. The long lance keeps you upright and further from the splash.
  • You wash tall SUVs and vans. You will still need the long lance for the roof.
  • You wash one car now and then and the long lance doesn't bother you. A short gun is about comfort and control, not cleaning power.
  • You want it for solar panels. For the glass itself, the long lance on a wide fan keeps the nozzle further back, which is what panels need. Our solar panel cleaning guide explains how to clean them safely.

Our Recommendation

If you wash cars and bikes regularly, especially in a tight porch, a short gun at Rs 2,200 is one of the cheapest upgrades you can make to a pressure washer. Confirm the connection with us first, keep the long lance for roofs and walls, and hold the same safe distance you would with the lance. Pair it with the Moko High Pressure Washer for home use, or the De-Wolt DWE1600 for heavier, regular washing.

We deliver nationwide from Lahore with cash on delivery, and you can see the gun alongside both machines in our pressure washer range.
